Growing up Cheniqua “didn’t like the skin she was in”. Living in a white community she didn’t know what it really meant to be Black. In this video she discusses colorism. And how seeing the world through her husband’s experiences being a dark skinned Black man, changed how she thought about race. She also talks about the work she put in to be the kind of mom she knew her daughter would need.
